"How do you make it through the winter months?" Have you heard this lately or have you seen this expression in your customer's eyes? Winter is the time of year where your customers need to pamper and treat themselves with luxurious products and textures. While it is gray outside, you need to create a colourful in-store environment to cheer up your clientele! They need you to warm them up from the outside cold and to help soothe their dry, itchy skin from a heated home. Make your life easy and just remember one word: P.A.M.P.E.R. This acronym will help you to create an eye catching end cap!
Promote
Use the P.A.M.P.E.R acronym signage to guide your customers through the different needs they may have. This will help your busy customers in a blink of an eye to define their needs: Perfume, Ambiance, Moisturize, Pamper, Exfoliate and Rescue. Create shelf talkers and use them to describe the products that you will have on each shelf.
Ambiance
Let's face it; while winter is a beautiful season, it is also cold and it gets dark early. Help your customers to create a warm and cheerful ambiance in their home by displaying colourful and scented candles. Include different scents: lavender, vanilla, tuscan blood orange, Hawaiian mix or for the customers in search of peace, try bamboo or Tibetan Mountain Temple. Just the name of these scents will take your customers on a trip around the world, while the colour and natural scent will transport them into another season.
Moisturize
Higher heat in the house and cold air blasting on your face outside brings skin dryness and itchiness. Offer the following products from your current health and beauty sets. It will help to satisfy the shower lover or the bath diva.
Bath oil: scented with essential oils or neutrals. While the oils soften the skin, specific essential oils can help with certain conditions. Eucalyptus helps to open up the lungs, vanilla creates a warm luxurious ambiance, and lavender promotes relaxation and will remind your customer of their last trip down south.
Body butter: again create an abundance of possibilities for your customers. Display different scents to create a fun environment to choose from. Body butter is the luxurious version of a body lotion. Composed of a higher amount of oil, they are better for retaining water in the skin. When facing cold temperatures outside and dry conditions inside, your customers need the butter.
Perfume
Fragrances can create certain moods. Depending on the strength your customers prefer, there are different natural options on the market. For the bold personality, I would suggest a spray perfume which will leave a little lingering scent in the air, while perfume oil will require closer contact to share the special aroma.
Cream perfumes are also available which will spread the scent in a mild way when your body heat rises. Since natural perfumes are a treat to create certain moods or environment, ensure that this shelf is very colourful. You can even add some physical elements to the display that are part of the perfume formula, like vanilla beans, oranges and so on.
Exfoliate
"I have been using an oil or a rich cream but my skin still feels awfully dry and itchy." Does this sound familiar? The majority of your customers will moisturize their skin when it is dry but did you know that this will not fix their problem? They are trying to moisturize dead skin cells. The best solution is to exfoliate two to three times a week during the winter months. This way when they use their moisturizer, it will penetrate deeper into the epidermis, creating soft and velvety skin instead of a crocodile back finish.
What is in right now are the colourfully natural exfoliant bath salts. Not only are their colours cheerful but they gently exfoliate the dead skin cells. The bonus is that they melt in your bath or shower so your clientele is saved from scrubbing their bathtub afterwards. Display the salts in a pyramid display with different scents to appeal to everyone's heart and ensure that the scent is clearly visible!
Rescue
When the skin suffers from eczema, chronic itchiness, dermatitis or rashes, you need emu oil. We should all have a container of this ingredient at home, especially during the cold season. Emu oil can be used topically on a dry spot or on largely itchy skin. It provides fast relief, is hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic. When facing a customer with sensitive skin, offer them an emu oil product. You will make their day! Display different sizes of pure emu oil; a small size for the purse and a large one for home!
