Vita Health Stores in Winnipeg has announced plans for its newest and largest store to date. Vita Health Westwood will be opening in February 2013. 

Choices Markets, The Big Carrot winners of Fairtrade Canada awards

Two of Canada's best-known health food stores were recently honoured for their ongoing commitment to fair trade products. Vancouver's Choices Markets and Toronto's The Big Carrot were among seven companies and organizations to win Canadian Fairtrade Awards, which were presented September 20 in Toronto by Fairtrade Canada.

Zak's in Sundridge expanding to 2,100 sq. ft.

The biggest health food store in the village of Sundridge ON is expanding.  Zak's Naturally, located three and a half hours north of Toronto, is expanding from 1,200 sq. ft. to 2,100 sq. ft.

Dale Lo named associate publisher of CNHR Magazine

Dale Lo has been named associate publisher of CNHR Magazine. Since joining CNHR in 1999, Dale has served the magazine in key sales roles, first as a sales rep and most recently as CNHR's national sales manager.

During her 13 years with CNHR, Dale has made many friends in the industry, developed strong relationships with many people on the supply side of our industry, and has served as an outstanding ambassador for CNHR, always representing and upholding the values of the magazine in the best way possible.

In her new position, Dale will continue to serve her existing customers along with adding new duties, which will primarily include overseeing all sales efforts and initiatives of the magazine.

Preferred campaign nets $42,000 donation for CWF

Preferred Nutrition's president Deane Parkes and national sales manager Deb Laroque present Kathryn Babcock and Crystal Daniel of The Canadian Women's Foundation with a cheque for $42,000, which was raised this year through Preferred Nutrition's Have a Heart campaign. The CWF helps women and girls fight poverty and violence.
