CNHR Magazine was founded in 1997 with the goal of providing Canada's traditional natural health retailers with a steady supply of practical business information.

What We Do

CNHR is a unique business publication as it is the only magazine in Canada that is focused solely on traditional health food stores.
Our mandate is to help natural health retailers improve their business through better hiring and training practices, improved advertising, marketing and merchandising, better use of their local media, and other business aspects that will improve the image of their store and ultimately their bottom line. In fact, anything that will help retailers improve their business is potential editorial for CNHR.

Who We Reach

Our magazine is sent via Canada Post – addressed by name – to 2,500 store owners, managers, buyers and staff of virtually every health food store in Canada. However, our readership goes deeper than that number. A survey conducted at the end of 2009 of our retailer readers indicated each copy of CNHR going into health food stores is read by 4.7 people. This puts our actual readership over 11,500! This means we are reaching the front-line people, the people who not only buy your products, but the thousands of trained professionals who SELL your products to consumers.

What makes us different?

Unlike other trade magazines, which often try to be "all things to all people," we have elected to serve only one audience: the natural health retailer. Everything we print is focused on helping their business. Our theory for this is simple: if the stores become better, and sell more product, everyone wins. Business articles containing practical information which helps their business is what retailers are looking for, and that is what we provide.

Investing in CNHR

A company which chooses to run an advertising program is guaranteed one thing: retailers are going to see your advertisement and editorial content, be it a new product release, a new staff member or any other company-related notice. That is because retailers read CNHR: they read it, they pass it along and they keep copies. Having advertising and editorial exposure in CNHR ensures everyone in the store is going to learn about your company, which will make the selling process easier. Familiarity is a wonderful "door opener" when it comes to the buying-selling process.
