Sharon and Mickey Tarasoff caused a minor shockwave a few years ago when they moved their long-serving store in Castelgar, B.C., to a new location.
For 37 years, they managed to successfully operate Mother Natures out of a 1,100 sq. ft. space. The leap into a 4,000 sq. ft. location raised a few eyebrows from people who may have thought the Tarasoffs would stay in the original spot forever. In the end, the move was driven by Sharon and Mickey's desire to offer their customers more of everything.
"The move to our new location at 331 Columbia Ave. has allowed us to create a plentiful, stocked natural foods store, thus allowing us to serve our customers to the best of our ability," explained Sharon. "The new shop allows the space to expand the supplement line, including the exclusive Health First supplements that we are very excited about. We also have an expanded line of bulk foods, an extensive line of sports nutrition and a complete cosmetic and beauty aid department. We have bamboo sheet sets, towels and Egyptian cotton sheets.
"One of our specialties is to offer an extensive variety of gluten-free foods to assist in our clients attaining better health. We are proud to provide a flyerwith monthly specials and be a part of both the Health First Network and of the natural foods industry. We are honoured to be able to serve our Kootenay boundary and surrounding area. It's been 42 years and we're still going strong." •
