Victor and Anne Wetch are no strangers to natural health retailing. And they are definitely no strangers to running a successful business. Since they became the owner of Nutter's in Lethbridge in 1995, sales have tripled and the vitamin section, which has been a driving force, has tripled in space. But the-now 6,000 sq. ft. Nutter's store isn't Victor's first experience with natural health retailing – he started Nutter's in Stettler, Alberta in 1986.

Willie Pelzer

Willie Pelzer, the founder of Sunny Crunch Foods Ltd. and former CHFA president, passed away on Friday, May 17 at the age of 79. Willie served as president of CHFA from 1969 to 1971, and again from 1991 to 1997.

A release from CHFA recalls Willie as a person "who worked tirelessly for our industry. Known to many as the saviour of CHFA in the '90s when our Association had come to a crossroads, Willie assumed the leadership role, donated office space and generously provided financing for the revitalization."

Willie was honoured in 1997 by becoming the first recipient of CHFA's prestigious Hall of Fame award.

Oliver Health Foods celebrates 60 years

The year 1953 was certainly filled with newsworthy events. The post-Second World War baby boom was in full swing, as Canadian families grew at record rates. The coronation of Queen Elizabeth II took place, and the three-year Korean War ended. In Nepal, Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay became the first climbers confirmed as having reached the summit of Mount Everest. In Canadian sports, the Montreal Canadiens won the Stanley Cup.
