The Peanut Mill celebrates its 50th anniversary with week-long events

The Peanut Mill Natural Foods Market in St. Catharines, Ontario, marked its 50th anniversary with a five-day celebration between April 20 and 24, bringing together over 1,400 customers, staff members, and community partners to honour five decades in business.

The event week featured daily in-store activities, including demos, prize draws, and promotional offers aimed at thanking loyal shoppers while welcoming new customers. Founded in 1976 by Antje Wirth and now owned by her son Jason Sebeslav, The Peanut Mill has grown from a small natural foods shop into a well-established destination known for its personalized service and wellness expertise.

Highlights of the celebration included an off-site customer appreciation event and a cake-cutting ceremony that was attended by the local mayor, underscoring the store’s strong ties to the Niagara community.

The milestone events reflected both the longevity of the business and the loyalty of its customer base, many of whom have supported the store for decades. Jason recognized the anniversary week as an opportunity to celebrate the company’s history while reaffirming its commitment to health-focused retailing, education, and community engagement moving forward.
